Upper Big Wind River near Crowheart, Wyoming. There are no crowds as
Wind River Canyon Whitewater & Fly Fishing is the only licensed outfitter on the entire
river! The Wind River Canyon is trophy style water with many of the
catches well over 20 inches. The predominate species in Wind River Canyon
are Brown and Rainbow with Cutthroat also being present. Guided fishing
trips are also available on the Big Horn River north of the Wind River
Canyon, which flows into Thermopolis, Wyoming.

Wind River Canyon 2 Day/Overnight Trip - NEW for 2008!
Wind River Canyon Whitewater & Flyfising is offering an exciting new trip, an overnight fishing trip in the Wind River Canyon. The is an amazing one-of-a-kind fly fishing experience. Fish the upper canyon on Day 1 before pulling into our exclusive campsite to enjoy a relaxing evening while we prepare and serve an amazing BBQ dinner. The next morning enjoy a hearty breakfast and prepare for another full day of fishing.
We provide all necessary camping gear, tipis, sleeping bags & roomy comfortable cots w/pads. Or, if you like, bring your own sleeping bag & pad. By reservation only, limited availability.
Wind River Canyon 2 Day/Overnight Trip: $1495.00/boat
Additional Information
Guided trip price includes:
- One boat and 1-2 clients.
- Transportation from our shop to and from the river, lunch and soft drinks (full day trips only), fly rod and reel (if needed), and safety equipment on the river (pfd).
- Full day trips last approximately 8 hours and a half-day is approximately 4 hours.
Price does not include:
- Wind River Indian Reservation fishing permit/license & recreation stamp (required). We do sell the required permit and stamp as a concessionaire of the Shoshone and Arapaho Tribes.
- Wyoming Fishing License & conservation stamp (required).
- Terminal tackle (flies, leaders, tippet, etc…)
- Optional guide gratuities
Special dietary requirements may be accommodated with at least 24-hour notice prior to trip departure date.
Recommended gear:
- 6 weight rod (5 wt. will suffice)
- Reel with floating line and drag system (weighted lines acceptable, but not necessary)
- Terminal tackle (flies, leaders, tippet, etc.) is available in our fly shop and our guides will be happy to assist you with selecting the appropriate items the morning of your trip
- Raincoat
- Polarized sunglasses (primarily for eye protection)
- Sunscreen
- Fishin’ Hat
Fishing Deposit
Cancellation Policy
A deposit of 50% is required
when making reservations for fishing trips. Cancellation must be made 30
days prior to date of scheduled trip to receive a refund of deposit.
Less than 30 day notice results in forfeiture of deposit. If
cancellation occurs with less than 24 hours notice the full guided trip
price will be charged.
